Pickled ("the app") is a pickleball session organizer for iOS. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. Pickled is designed to keep your data on your own devices; there is no Pickled account and no Pickled-operated server that stores your content.
Information you create in the app
You can enter information to run your sessions, including:
- Player names you add to your roster.
- Locations and court names you set up.
- Sessions, matches, scores, and related session statistics.
- App settings and preferences.
This content is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud enabled for Pickled, your players and locations are synced across your own devices using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. That data is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy and is not accessible to the developer.
Player names are provided by you. Please only add names you are comfortable storing, and obtain consent where appropriate before adding other people's names.
Purchases
Pickled offers an optional in-app purchase for premium features. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Pickled does not see or receive your payment details. The app checks your purchase entitlement with the App Store to unlock premium features and to restore purchases. Purchases are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Diagnostics and crash reporting
To keep the app stable and fix problems, Pickled uses Sentry for crash reporting and performance monitoring. When the app encounters an error or hang, or as part of reduced-rate performance sampling, it may send diagnostic information such as:
- Crash and error reports, stack traces, and app hang/performance data.
- Device and app details (for example device model, operating system version, and app version).
- A randomly generated, anonymous identifier created on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID and is used only to group diagnostic events.
- Basic app-state context, limited to counts such as the number of players and locations (not their names).
Pickled configures Sentry not to send default personally identifying information. Diagnostic data is processed on Sentry's servers in the European Union (Germany) and is used only to diagnose and improve the app. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.
Feedback you send
If you choose to send feedback from within the app, your message and any contact details you include are sent to the developer (via Sentry's feedback feature) so we can respond and address the issue. Providing feedback is entirely optional.
What Pickled does not do
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We do not use advertising networks or third-party analytics/tracking SDKs.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not operate our own server that collects or stores your session content.
Data retention
Content you create stays on your device (and in your iCloud) until you delete it or remove the app. You can delete players, locations, and other data at any time within the app. Diagnostic data is retained by Sentry according to its standard retention periods.
Children's privacy
Pickled is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Disable iCloud sync for Pickled in your device's iCloud settings to keep data on-device only.
- Delete content within the app, or delete the app, to remove locally stored data.
- Contact us with any questions or requests regarding your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
